Perry Polderman, a city man and Canton town employee, was killed following a fatal motorcycle accident on southbound Route 8 just south of the Pinewoods Road exit Monday night, police said.

State police from the Canaan barracks are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident on southbound Route 8 just south of the Pinewoods Road exit in Torrington.
The motorcyclist, Perry Polderman from Torrington, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police said he rode into the guardrail along the right side of the highway.
The highway remains open as police investigate the crash and wait for the medical examiner to arrive. Torrington firefighters are assisting at the scene.
