Rivera, was crossing North Avenue at 9:07 p.m. when he was struck by a dark red Chevrolet SUV driven by a black woman traveling north at a high rate of speed, according to the incident report.
Witnesses followed the SUV as the driver fled down Housatonic Avenue, but she was able to elude them by driving fast and disregarding traffic signals, the report states.

The low-resolution black-and-white image doesn’t show the color of the vehicle, which police identified as Red Pearl and witness described as burgundy. it does confirm certain characteristics, however.
