3 people killed, one injured, after two cars and truck collide on S.R. 53 in Fairfield County.

Three people were killed in a car crash on Route 53 at the Bethel town line on Tuesday, officials said.

Three vehicles, two cars and a box truck, were involved in the crash, police said. The three victims were in the two cars, police said.

The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries, police said.

The deceased were later identified as William Shannon 77, Jane Shannon 78, and Edward Kish 45.
