Teen dead in crash near Middletown

The accident occurred when a 2005 Dodge Dakota, driven by John W. Kirsch, 18, proceeded from the stop sign on Strawberry Lane and attempted to cross the lanes of Route 301, Bratz said. Kirsch, of Middletown, pulled into the path of a Kenworth Tractor Trailer driven by Julio Gallegos, a 52 of New Jersey, he said.

The tractor trailer struck the right passenger side of the truck in the intersection sending the truck spinning, Bratz said. The tractor trailer came to a rest on its left side, he said.

Teen killed in crash near Middletown identified as Salesianum senior

While police did not give the name of the 17-year-old who died as a result of the crash, the principal of Salesianum School identified the teen as Tyler Brown, a senior at the private school.

Woolwich teen killed in Delaware crash

Salesianum School held a Mass to pray for Tyler Brown of Woolwich, who was a senior at the school, and two other teens injured in the crash Friday night in Delaware.

Brown, 17, was remembered as an outstanding student and athlete. He was a player for the wrestling and rugby teams and was a member of the Model United Nations Club at the school.

"Salesianum is a special community and Tyler will be missed by all of his brothers," said Kim Maguire, who attended the funeral to show support for Brown's family. Maguire's son also attends the school.
