The crash remains under investigation, but charges are not expected to be filed against the driver.
The fatal collision occurred at 12:05 a.m. on Kirkwood Highway near Woodmill Drive when 49-year-old Rodolfo Ramirez-Lopez of Newark was attempting to cross the street and was struck by a Mercedes M350.Ramirez-Lopez was transported to the hospital and later died. Authorities say Ramirez-Lopez was not in a designated crosswalk.
