Wrong-way driver killed in fiery crash on I-95
A wrong-way driver was killed early Thursday in a fiery crash with a tractor-trailer on I-95 near Newark, state police said.
An unidentified man was driving south in the northbound lanes of I-95 when he collided with a northbound semi truck driven by Francisco E. Corona, 30, at about 2:19 a.m.. The collision sent his car into the shoulder, where it caught fire with the man trapped inside. Another vehicle, driven by Jerry A. Webster, 36, ran into an axle that had fallen off of Corona's truck, but he was uninjured. The wrong-way driver was killed by the crash and ensuing flames, and Corona was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
