The Wilmington News Journal reports (http://delonline.us/2ahAL7D ) the crash occurred on U.S. Route 13 under the Interstate 295 overpass.
New Castle County Police Officer First Class JP Piser said the officer was on duty and driving an unmarked Ford Taurus when he was struck by a Mack dump truck.
