Man Killed When Car Crashes Into Propane Tank.

A vehicle crashed into a propane tank in southern Delaware killing the driver and forcing evacuations in the area.

Police say Norman Davis of Millsboro was driving a Ford Crown Victoria on John J. Williams Highway when it traveled into a field and hit a 1,000 gallon propane tank behind the American Legion Post in Millsboro around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

The dislodged tank hit a tank next to it and the car continued until it hit a fence and shed.

Crews closed off the street and evacuated the immediate area while fire fighters work to contain the propane leak, according to reports.

Police say Davis was pronounced dead on the scene. His body was taken to the Office of the State Medical Examiner for autopsy.
