Two people were reported dead Saturday after a crash involving a car and a trash truck on I-295 northbound near Pennsylvania Avenue, SE in D.C.

The two adults who died were in a Toyota that ended up wrapped around a utility pole. Two other passengers in the Toyota, an adult and child, were trapped and had to be freed by rescue crews. They were taken to hospitals in stable condition. The driver of the truck also survived the crash, but his condition is unknown.
