Man killed in motorcycle crash identified
McManus attempted to brake but lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle, hitting both the SUV and the ground. He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. A police officer driving to the scene was also involved in a crash. Detectives said someone or something pulled in front of that officer, causing him to take evasive action and hit a light pole. That officer suffered minor injuries.
