A Friday morning accident left a 35-year-old Callahan woman dead after the Toyota sport utility vehicle that she was riding in crashed on Interstate 10 in Baker County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. None of the women were wearing seat belts, according to the Highway Patrol. Tonya Michelle Clements was dead at the scene after the 1:10 a.m. accident, the Highway Patrol said. The Toyota spun, ejecting Monda and Clements before it hit a second tree and came to rest. The 2002 Toyota, driven by Shayna Monda, 25 of Macclenny, was westbound on I-10 when it veered right onto the westbound shoulder, then slid into a tree off the road, the Highway Patrol said.

One woman was killed and two others were seriously injured early Friday morning in a crash on Interstate 10 in Baker County. The SUV traveled into the tree line, hit a large tree, spun counter-clockwise and hit another tree with the vehicle's left side. The FHP report said Monds was driving westbound on I-10 just after 1 a.m. and veered right on the westbound shoulder for unknown reasons. Monds was taken to UF Health Jacksonville and Green was taken to Fraser Hospital. None of the women were wearing seat belts, the FHP said.
