The victim of a fatal crash in Nassau County early Wednesday have been identified.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:45 a.m. near Callahan on County Road 108, which is known locally as River Road.

Mark Estell, 39, of St. George, Georgia, was traveling eastbound and negotiating a right hand curve when his 2006 Nissan Sentra crossed the double yellow line, FHP said in a media release.

The release also explained that the Sentra then collided with the left rear tires of an empty trailer being pulled by a semi truck traveling westbound.

The driver of the semi faces charges for driving too fast for the conditions, according to FHP. He was not injured.

The Sentra came to a final rest in the eastbound travel lane while the semi stopped on the shoulder of the westbound lane.

Nassau County Fire & Rescue Department used special equipment to remove Estell's body from his badly damaged vehicle. He was pronounced dead on scene.
