The Highway Patrol said five people were a Toyota Corolla involved in a head-on-collision with a Jeep Patriot occupied only by the driver. A fire erupted and four people were trapped in the wreckage, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
According to the the FHP report, a Toyota Corolla driven by 30-year-old Evelyn Tyson collided head-on with a Jeep Patriot at about 9:30 p.m. on West Beaver Street at Otis Road.
The Oakland Public Education Fund and United Airlines teamed up and donated plane tickets for the children to return Saturday night.
