Man struck, killed walking on U.S. 17 by vehicle driven by Carolyn Jones.

A 67-year-old man was hit and killed while walking across U.S. 17 in Putnam County Thursday evening.

The man's identity was not released, pending next-of-kin notification.

Carolyn Jones, 62, of Crescent City, was traveling southbound on U.S. 17 around 6 p.m. She hit the man while he walked across the highway at the intersection of Horse Landing Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

FHP did not say whether Jones would face any charges.
