One killed, one critical after two cars collide on State Road 312.

St. Augustine police are investigating a two-car crash on State Road 312 Saturday afternoon that left one person dead and another seriously injured. Investigators say officers responded to a crash on the east side of the State Road 312 bridge over the Intra-coastal Waterway at 5:07 p.m. Police say a driver was driving west toward the bridge when he and lost control of the vehicle and crossed the median, hitting an eastbound vehicle. The driver died at the scene, according to officers. His passenger was hospitalized in critical condition. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were taken to Flagler Hospital, treated and released. Traffic homicide is continuing their investigation. Police say as more information will be released as it becomes available.
