Jimmy Mulholland, 48, critically injured, transported to hospital, after he collides with a dump truck, driven by Jonathan Taylor, 22, on County Road 214 near St. Augustine.

A St. Johns County man was critically injured Wednesday after striking a dump truck around 7 a.m. According to deputies, Jimmy Mulholland, 48, was riding his 2008 Honda Goldwing on County Road 214 near Carter Road when he hit the back of a Mack dump truck driven by 22-year-old Jonathan Taylor. Mulholland, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to UF Health in Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries, deputies said. Taylor was not injured in the accident. C.R. 214 was shut down for several hours Wednesday morning as deputies investigated the crash and cleared the road.
