An 80-year-old man died in a crash Wednesday afternoon in Yulee, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
State troopers said James Strobel, of The Villages, was a passenger in a van turning left from State Road 200 onto Interstate 95 northbound about 12:05 p.m.
Troopers said a tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on S.R. 200 in the right lane and approaching the intersection when the driver of the van, 75-year-old Wayne Richardson, failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn.
The tractor-trailer struck the right side of the van, where Strobel was sitting.
Strobel was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where he died.
Richardson, of Hobe Sound, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer and a passenger were not hurt.
