Florida Fish and Wildlife officials are investigating after a deadly boating accident three miles east of Boca Chita Key Sunday.

Man Who Died After Capsized Boat Rescue Visiting From Cuba(link is external)

According to FWC, the men anchored up improperly in windy rough conditions causing water to come over the stern, filling the boat and causing it to capsize.

A 27-foot boat capsized, throwing three people into the water. One person, whose name has not been released, was sent to a local medical center where they later died. Authorities are unsure what caused the accident. Check back for updates!
