Gulf Breeze pedestrian killed in hit and run early Friday

The man, who has not been identified, was walking within the eastbound travel lane of East Bay Boulevard at about 4:22 a.m. when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 24 year old man that was hit and killed on East Bay Blvd was my son Kevin Michael Stewart. It has been absolutely devastating and life changing the loss of my son. We have not hard much from anyone on the investigation or search for who took him away from us that morning. It's very unsettling to me, that they still haven't updated the report or even acknowledged the identification of my son, he has a name and a large family that will never be the same without him.
