Campbell crashed into the concrete barrier on the northern portion of the road. The collision caused Campbell to be ejected from the motorcycle and go over the railing falling approximately 40 to 50 feet.

Witnesses said 22-year-old Campbell Gares was driving his Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Interstate 110 in the right lane and attempted to pass a witness while merging onto the Interstate 110 to Interstate 10 ramp.
