Ultralight aircraft crashes in DeLeon Springs

An ultralight aircraft crashed Thursday at the Bob Lee Airport near DeLeon Springs and the pilot suffered a probable injury, a sheriff’s spokesman mentioned. The incident that occurred at 7:22 a.m. is under investigation, but preliminary reports show that the aircraft crashed into some trees on the northeast side of the airport, stated sheriff’s spokesman Gary Davidson.
Intini took off Thursday morning from Spring Hill in a single-seat ultralight. Sheriff’s investigators did not immediately know Intini’s final intended destination but when he got near the grassy air strip at Bob Lee Airport, he was flying at an altitude of approximately 1,200 feet when he experienced engine trouble.
