One dead, one in serious condition after DeLeon Springs crash
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, June Weigel Johnson, 74, of DeLand, was driving west on Mills Road just after 7 p.m. She attempted to cross traffic to make a left turn, the report said, but pulled out into the path of a 1996 Isuzu SUV traveling south on U.S. 17. The Isuzu struck the passenger side of Johnson’s 2003 Chevy sedan head-on.
