Woman dies in crash, is ejected from, run over by her own vehicle

The crash on County Road 25A and Northwest 110th Street in Martin blocked traffic in both directions on CR 25A, which is a busy roadway.

Woman who died was at fault in accident, FHP rules

The investigation determined that Karalea D. Walker failed to yield the right of way when the vehicle she was driving, a 2003 Honda Civic, exited Northwest 100th Street onto County Road 25A the night of Dec. 26.
Florida Highway Patrol says that a car was stopped at the stop sign at Northwest 100th Street, then moved beyond the stop sign and entered onto County Road 25A, when a second car that was headed south on CR 25A struck the front of the car coming from Northwest 100th Street and spun it around 360 degrees. The impact ejected the driver onto the roadway. At this point the car then ran over the victim as it spun around, killing her, according to officials. The victim, identified as Karalea D. Walker, 50, was not wearing a seat belt. The second vehicle involved then struck a wooden utility pole, and the femail driver of that car was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where she was listed in serious condition.
