Two people were injured in a hit-and-run accident that took place around 6:04 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Oakland Park Boulevard in Port Orange.

Dean Warmkessel, 66, and his wife Donna Warmkessel, 63, were believed to be attempting to cross the street when they were struck by the vehicle that subsequently fled the scene.
The only description of the vehicle at this time is a loud muffler and a possible missing antenna. The extent of the damage is unknown.
The couple was taken to Halifax Medical Center where Dean was treated in ICU and Donna is said to have non-life threatening injuries.
