Circuit Judge Michael Overstreet sentenced Bruce George of Nolensville, Tennessee, to a little over 10 years after he pleaded no contest to DUI manslaughter charges on Thursday.

A Middle Tennessee man is facing charges after a crash in Florida killed another man from Tennessee. A car collided with a scooter Sunday night in Panama City Beach. The man on the scooter, 22-year-old Brandon Beverly, of Knoxville, was killed. The driver of the car, 18-year-old Bruce George, of Nolensville, was arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter. Police aren't saying whether the two knew each other, but additional charges against George are pending.

Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. I AM THE GRANDMOTHER OF BRANDON BEVERLY WHO WAS KILLED ON MARCH 10, 2014. WE ARE STILL IN A STATE OF SHOCK. MY QUESTION IS HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE AN INSURANCE COMPANY TO CONTACT THE PARENTS ON A DEATH CLAIM. DEATH CLAIMS ARE HANDLED DIFFERENTLY FROM A REGULAR COLLISION. SHOULD THE PARENTS CONTACT THE INSURANCE CO OR SHOULD THEY WAIT FOR THEM TO CONTACT THE PARENTS. HOW CAN THEY GET INFORMATION ON THE PERSON THAT WAS DRIVING THE CAR.
