Police Chase in Midway Ends in Fatal Crash
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver was from fleeing police when he spun off of the roadway and struck a brick mailbox. The vehicle then collided with two culvert ditches and overturned, coming to a final rest on its tires on the shoulder of Martin Luther King Boulevard. The vehicle's passenger, 18-year-old Trevor Chambers of Havana, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 19-year-old Malik Dwayne Saunders of Pensacola, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
