CHILD, 3, DIES AFTER HILLSBOROUGH CRASH, FHP SAYS
The crash happened about 7:55 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 674 and 27th Street SE. Troopers said a 2001 Toyota Camry driven by John Rutland, 38, of Ruskin, was southbound on 27th Street, attempting to cross SR 674 when it collided with the driver’s side of the Chevrolet.

According to FHP, the investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending.

Rutland was arrested at the scene and faces eight charges including driving under the influence, DUI with serious bodily injury and DUI manslaughter.
