The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said Ka’Pone Wainwright was westbound on the Corey Causeway at high speed about 11:48 p.m. when she lost control of her Honda Accord and struck a palm tree in the median. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
