Brantley was transported to Palm of Pasadena Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
43-year-old Edwin Brantley was allegedly speeding while heading west on Gulfport Boulevard at about 12:53 p.m., when he departed the roadway during a curve and struck a concrete pillar before going through a fence and hitting a tree. The car then overturned and burst into flames, and Brantley was ejected. He was pronounced dead after being brought to a hospital.
