Tampa crash leaves 1 dead, 1 seriously injured

TAMPA, Fla. -- Early Saturday morning just after 5:00, at the intersection of Fletcher Avenue and Kitten Drive, a fatal crash occurred. Ahmed Benabidiba, 40, was driving eastbound on Fletcher Avenue in the inside travel lane. Sharlean Driggins, 37, was traveling westbound on Fletcher Avenue within the inside lane. Driggins was transported to Tampa General Hospital in serious, but stable condition. For some unknown reason, Benabidiba's Honda Accord crossed the raised grassy median into the westbound lane of travel striking Driggins' Chevy Equinox head on.
