Georgia State Patrol Troopers say Thursday night at 8:45 19-year old Claudio Hernandez was driving west on Highway 37.
2 Killed in Colquitt Co. Head-on Collision
The speed limit there is only 55. GSP said the investigation is still on going.
At about 8:45pm, Claudio was driving on Highway 37 when he crossed over the median and collided head-on with a car driven by Amalia, who was stopped and waiting to make a left turn, and both drivers were killed in the crash. A patrol officer reportedly caught Claudio traveling at 80 mph just before the crash, while the speed limit for the area was only 55 mph.
