A witness who drive by the accident told WXIA that the printing on the side of the bus indicated that the bus was from Marietta, Ga. The witness said it appeared the bus was "full of elderly people".

The crash happened on Highway 515 south of the Chattahoochee National Forest, the Gilmer County Sheriff's office reported.

One person was killed in the crash and 43 others were injured, according to Gilmer County Public Safety.
