Woman dies in Cobb County crash, police say

Cobb Police said their investigation found the 2002 Nissan Pathfinder being driven by Hamby "veered off its lane and onto the southern grass shoulder for reasons yet to be determined" as she was traveling eastbound on Lost Mountain Road.

According to the Cobb County Police Department, Margaret Hamby was driving east on Lost Mountain Road near Macland Woods Drive when her Nissan left the road and collided with a concrete drainage pipe causing the vehicle to flip onto its side.

Margaret Hamby was driving a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder eastbound on Lost Mountain Road, near its intersection with Macland Woods Drive and not far from the Kroger on Macland Road around 6:45 p.m. Thursday, when the Nissan veered out of its lane and onto a grass shoulder for reasons police have yet to determine, a department spokesperson said.
