1 dead, 5 injured after chain-reaction crash on I-285 in Dunwoody

Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields has been following the crash since it happened around 5 a.m. Police told Channel 2 Action News that the crash involved six vehicles near the Chamblee-Dunwoody Road exit. Police said initially three vehicles were involved in the crash when one of the drivers got out of his or her car. That driver was hit by another car and died at the scene.

The crash happened just before 4:45 a.m. near Chamblee Dunwoody Road. Six vehicles total were involved in two related crashes.

Police said one of the drivers involved in the first crash, Victor Dimas-Paniqgua, 38, was hit by several other vehicles and died at the scene. Five other people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
