Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed one man and critically injured another man as they helped change a tire on a metro Atlanta freeway.

According to witnesses, Jodi Da Costa called her brother Paul Witter, his twin and their friend, Cadogan, when she got a flat tire around 4:30 a.m. The group had been out at a club. Witter said they had just finished changing the tire, when a Dodge Ram, going about 60 miles an hour, swerved off the road and into them. He said Cadogan took the hardest hit.
Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed one man and critically injured another man as they helped change a tire on a metro Atlanta freeway. DeKalb County police say two women had called the men to help them change the tire when the men were struck by a pickup. It happened around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday on westbound Interstate 20, near Panola Road. Police said a pickup truck they said was not maintaining its lane struck the men and kept driving. A second car followed the truck until the driver was pulled over. Authorities stated that one of the men was hospitalized in critical condition and the other one died. The crash snarled traffic during the early part of the Wednesday morning rush hour.
