42,000 pounds of watermelon spill onto I-75 in Clayton County

A tractor-trailer overturned in Clayton County, spilling 42,000 pounds of watermelon onto the interstate. The crash happened about 5 a.m. on the I-75 northbound ramp to I-285 westbound. And those hundreds of green melons left many drivers seeing red.

On the I-75 northbound ramp to I-285, 42,000 lbs. of watermelon spilled out of a semi truck and onto the road. The spill created a massive mess that closed the onramp for almost an hour while crews cleared the fruuit. No one was injured.
