Sarah Harmening, 17, dead in church bus crash at Camp Creek Parkway and Merk Road in Fulton County, Georgia

Emergency crews have responded to a wreck involving a bus in Fulton County.

Mount Zion Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama, posted on its Facebook page that a bus with its student ministry mission crashed while traveling to the airport.

Fulton County Police said that there were 38 people on the bus. In addition to one fatality, four to five were critically injured, while 10 were said to be "walking wounded."     

Most of the 15 patients at WellStar Atlanta Medical Center South in East Point have been reunited with their families, officials said. 

Madison County Schools spokesman John Southerland said several Sparkman High School students were hurt, some with broken bones. The girl who died was not a student in the district, he said.

Authorities have confirmed the name of a teenage girl killed when a church bus carrying Alabama high school students crashed near Atlanta as the group prepared to embark on a mission trip to Africa.     

Six Mt. Zion Baptist Church members remain hospitalized with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening following Thursday's fatal bus crash near Atlanta.   

Georgia authorities said Friday that the deadly crash of an Alabama church bus began when the driver attempted to change lanes and collided with another vehicle.

Donned in bright colors, friends, family and church members gathered at the church where Harmening's family received visitors before her funeral service[1] and burial, planned for later this evening.
