Troy Hermandson, 34, killed, after his motorcycle leaves the roadway on Hood Road in Lilburn and crashes into a power pole.

Lilburn Police have identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash late Thursday night.

Police say 34 year old Troy Hermandson died at the scene at Hood Road near Remington Court in Lilburn just before midnight.

According to police, Hermandson was driving too fast when he lost control of his motorcycle. The rider went off the road and crashed into a mailbox before hitting a power pole.

One neighbor reported hearing an explosion at the time of the crash.

The force of the crash caused the 2012 Yamaha to split in two.

LPD Captain Thomas Bardugon says more tests will be done to determine if there were any other factors that could have affected the driver at the time.
