According to police, the incident started around 6 a.m. when the suspect was involved in a hit-and-run crash on I-75 near I-575 in Cobb County. The woman allegedly continued on without stopping to the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Bells Ferry Road, where she drove up onto the sidewalk and fatally struck a pedestrian.

Nesby made it to Atlanta, wrecked her car, got out of that vehicle and ran down Ponce de Leon Avenue with the gun, Chilton said.
