After impact, the Mack tractor-trailer exited the south shoulder of the roadway and struck a guard rail, the Georgia State Patrol said in a news release. After hitting the guard rail, the Mack tractor-trailer traveled down an embankment, striking several trees and partially overturned onto its passenger side.
The driver of the FedEx tractor-trailer, 58-year-old Jerome Perkins, continued traveling on I-20 Eastbound in the right lane and maintained control of his trailers, slowing to a stop in the right lane.
