A white Dodge pickup driven by Jones was traveling south and struck the rear of a Kia SUV.
One man is dead after an early morning wreck on Peach Orchard Road.
Chief Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose said Benjamin Douglas Jones, 24, of Augusta, was pronounced deceased at the scene from blunt force trauma.
Police were called to the 3800 block of Peach Orchard Road near Plantation Road around 5:20 a.m. Sgt. Danny Whitehead said a white Dodge pickup driven by Jones was traveling south and struck the rear of a Kia SUV. The truck then left the road and struck a disabled tow truck on the side of the road.
