One person is dead after a small plane carrying an undisclosed number of passengers has crashed at the Swainsboro Airport on Saturday afternoon.

In a statement posted to Facebook, the U.S. Army Golden Knights said that the Staff Sergeant was "extremely passionate about the sport of skydiving and always sought opportunities to coach and mentor other members of the team."

All five people that were aboard the 1988 single-engine Cessna when it crashed have been identified. William Middlebrooks is currently receiving treatment at the Augusta University Medical Center. He remains in serious condition.
