Two dead in fiery Jones County crash; onlookers couldn’t pull driver from flames
Names of the dead were not immediately available, but Jones County Sheriff Butch Reece said the logging truck appeared to be from neighboring Monroe County and the other truck was from up near Eatonton.
The sheriff said the flatbed pulled into the path of the logging truck and that the flatbed burst into flames.
Two dead in accident at new Gray Bypass updated
Reece said that a man stopped at the stop sign at the bypass and, believing he could make it across before an oncoming log truck passed, he proceeded into the intersection.

The bypass, which was installed in December and is located at Greene Settlement Road and Highway 129, has been criticized for being a safety hazard for drivers[2] due to the confusing intersection.
