Driver killed after train crashes into car in Garden City

Garden City Police said the train had more than 20 people on it, and was en route from Florence, South Carolina. No one on the train was injured.

Police identify man in fatal Garden City car v. train wreck

Police confirmed 49-year-old Walter Logan of Rincon died on Wednesday night after a wreck involving a car and a train in Garden City.
An Amtrak train collided with a car near the intersection of Hawkinsville Road and Big Hill Road Wednesday evening around 10:30 p.m. Walter Logan, 49, of Rincon, died in the crash. According to witnesses, Logan attempted to drive around the crossing arms after they had already dropped, when his vehicle was hit by the train. Logan was pronounced deceased at the crash site.
