Pedestrian struck by vehicle earlier this week dies

The pedestrian death marks the 51st traffic fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 46 at the same time last year.

A pedestrian died Saturday after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday morning at 5:50 a.m. on Fort Weaver Road. The adult male pedestrian was not in a crosswalk and was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Fort Weaver Road, 100 feet north of Laulaunui Street. The man was taken to a local hospital reported in good condition but he later died on Saturday. A female driver with an Ewa Beach address was involved in the accident, and it is unknown whether speed or alcohol were factors.
