44-year-old man killed in single-car accident on Mott-Smith Drive in Makiki, Hawaii

A man was speeding down Mott-Smith Drive when he lost control of his vehicle and ran into a tree. The vehicle overturned, and he became pinned beneath it. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. He wa reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Honolulu police are rerouting traffic in the area.
