11 people killed in plane crash near Dillingham Airfield in Mokulēia, Hawaii

There were no survivors after the twin engine King Air plane crashed Friday night near Dillingham Airfield, on Oahu’s North Shore, Hawaii Department of Transportation spokesman Tim Sakahara said.

But the Hawaii Department of Transportation tweeted Saturday that officials later “confirmed there were 11 people on board the plane” and no survivors. The twin-engine Beechcraft King Air plane took off from Dillingham Airfield on the north shore of the island.

A 29-year-old Yukon, Oklahoma, man who worked at the Oahu Parachute Center was one of 11 people who died in a plane crash Friday evening on the North Shore of Oahu, according to his cousin.

The Beechcraft BE65 twin-engine plane crashed during taking off Friday evening at Dillingham Airfield on Oahu’s North Shore, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The names of the passengers have not been formally released by authorities.

Names of the victims have not been released. A spokesman for the mayor's office says the earliest any information will be released by the Honolulu medical examiner's office will be Monday.

The plane crashed Friday shortly after it took off from Dillingham Airfield on the northern side of Oahu Island. The crash was the worst U.S. civil aviation accident since 2011.

Hawaii residents, 42-year-old James Lisenbee and 48-year-old Jerome Renck were among the 11 who died when a skydiving plane crashed at Dillingham Airfield on Friday, June 21st.

The company was given a cease and desist order from the state Department of Transportation earlier this spring and today has been told to leave.
