Two people were killed early Wednesday morning when their car was hit by a semi truck in Gooding County.

Morales was a graduate of Ellison High School where she was a member of the Ellison Emeralds Dance Team.

Depriest was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and Morales was not wearing a seat belt, police said. Social media posts indicated that Depriest and Morales had been in a relationship since 2012. Both were Ellison High School graduates.

Tyler Depriest was driving a 2008 Kia west on I-84 in Gooding County when he lost control of the vehicle at around 1:45 a.m., entered the median and then the eastbound lanes, at which point he was hit by a 2015 Freightliner semi-trailer truck. Depriest and his passenger, Mariah Morales, both of Killeen, Texas, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was Nicholas Salazar, 23, of Bethel, New York.
