Kane County sheriff's deputies responded to the crash on Route 25 near Lippold Park at 7:45 a.m.

The initial investigation indicated that a Volkswagen Jetta driven by William Marston, 18, of Batavia was traveling south on Route 25 and for an unknown reason left the roadway and struck a tree.

A portion of Route 25 was closed for about three hours on Saturday morning. The Kane County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the crash.
