A hit-and-run driver damaged a building and struck another car, sending two people to area hospitals Thursday night in the Southwest Side Gage Park neighborhood, police said.
A hit-and-run driver damaged a building and struck another car, sending two people to area hospitals Thursday night in the Southwest Side Gage Park neighborhood, police said.
About 8:45 p.m., a driver in a Chrysler 300 traveling north on Washtenaw Avenue struck a Nissan Altima driving westbound on 59th Street near the intersection, police said.
The Chrysler then struck a building on the northwest corner of the intersection, causing “significant structural damage,” police said.
Police said the driver of the Chrysler fled the scene on foot.
A 52-year-old woman in the Nissan was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, and a man in his 20’s was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, police said.
Both were in “stable” condition and were walking and talking after the crash.
